Project Schools and People of Europe

In an exciting development for history, citizenship education, and classical studies enthusiasts, the S.P.Q.R | Project Schools and People of Europe has been officially launched. Financed by the prestigious ERASMUS+ program, this ambitious project is set to make a significant impact on education, training, and youth sectors across Europe.

PARTNERSHIP PROFILES

Interactive Bulgaria Foundation

PROJECT COORDINATOR | BULGARIA

Interactive Bulgaria Foundation (IBF) is the project coordinator. The Foundation, having a successful Erasmus+ record, holding an “E+ Best Project Award 2017”, will transfer both technological experience in education, and program specific knowledge during the project implementation. The team of the Foundation is consisted of experienced professionals in ICT, project management, and works within a rich network of business and educational institutions. The Foundation is an active player in the public dialogue in the field of education. This will enhance the promotion of the GoB simulator and will ease its introduction in the schools.

National Lyceum for Ancient Languages and Cultures

PROJECT PARTNER | BULGARIA

The National Lyceum for Ancient Languages and Cultures “St. Constantine Cyril the Philosopher” is the only existing humanitarian and classical school of the oldest Bulgarian academic body: Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The school is profiled into the three fundamental European languages: Latin, Ancient Greek and Proto-Bulgarian (Old Slavonic) and the curriculum is related with profound studying the ancient history, philosophy, history of art, theory of culture, social studies, archeology and ethnography.

Geza Frank

PROJECT PARTNER | AUSTRIA

Géza Frank – Visual History & Consulting provides expertise in reenactment, living history practice, event-museology and event organization. Additional expertise is provided in the fields of history and material culture of the Roman 3rd to 6th centuries CE, cooperating with museums, archaeology and history institutions, consulting for film productions, etc. Géza Frank co-organises and participates in living history events in 9 countries around Europe and regularly organises workshops, adventures and experimental field work with public reach.

Familia Gladiatoria Egyesület

PROJECT PARTNER | HUNGARY

Familia Gladiatoria Egyesület, publicly known as the Familia Gladiatoria Pannonica, is a key partner of the international Roman cultural and reenactment network Nova Roma, which is present in four continents and in 20 countries, with a focus on Europe. As the representative of all these groups of Nova Roma, the Familia Gladiatoria Pannonica will be in a position to use the talent and capacities of all these involved groups in our partnership with the present project. Our possibilities are literally infinite in respect to Roman reenactment, performances, educational activities and presentations in the topic.

Mos Maiorum Ulpiae Serdicae

PROJECT PARTNER | BULGARIA

Mos Maiorum Ulpiae Serdicae is one of the few historical re-enactment groups in Bulgaria with a focus solely on Late Antiquity. Our members research, adapt and re-enact historical events and everyday life of the Roman and Goth settlers in the Moesia region (today’s Bulgaria and the Balkans) during the IV –VI century A.D. by reconstructing religious rituals, Civil Law processes, crafts, games, medicine, clothing and weaponry.

European School of Brussels IV

PROJECT PARTNER | BELGIUM

The European Schools are official educational establishments controlled jointly by the governments of the Member States of the European Union. They are legally regarded as public institutions in all of these countries. The mission of the European Schools is to provide a multilingual and multicultural education for nursery, primary and secondary level pupils. They are aimed primarily for children of staff of the European institutions. The Brussels IV school has a total of 3,009 pupils – comprising of 238 in Maternal, 1,082 in Primary and 1,539 in Secondary. There is a staff population of teachers, teaching assistants, classroom assistants, educational advisors and others of approximately 370 pedagogical staff.

Asociatia Culturala Tomis

PROJECT PARTNER | ROMANIA

Asociatia Culturala Tomis (ACT) was established in 2015, with the aim of creating good quality historical reenactment of various civilisations and epochs. Although based in the city of Constanta, several sections of the asociation exist in other Romanian cities – Arad, Galati, Craiova. Asociatia Culturala Tomis. Over the years, ACT has taken part at a multitude of reenactment events held in Romania and Bulgaria. The ACT also has two household events, the Tomis Ancient Festival, held in Constanta and the Dapyx Festival, held in Medgidia.
