On Day 8 of our training in Athens, participants shifted their focus to a theme that resonates globally: healthy lifestyles. Today’s goal was to explore how 360-degree video can promote well-being by immersing students in environments that encourage physical activity, relaxation, and mindfulness. By capturing scenes that embody wellness, participants learned how immersive media can inspire healthy habits and holistic wellness in the classroom.
The day began with an introduction to filming wellness-focused content, where instructors discussed techniques for capturing movement, serene settings, and natural surroundings in ways that foster a sense of calm and motivation. Participants brainstormed ideas on how to present wellness topics in a way that is both engaging and impactful, from showcasing exercise routines to highlighting peaceful spaces that encourage mindfulness. With this foundation, they selected locations around Athens where wellness is actively practiced and promoted.
In the late morning, participants set out to film at locations such as the National Garden, Zappeion Hall, and nearby coastal areas. Each environment offered unique opportunities to capture aspects of a healthy lifestyle, including yoga in the park, group exercises, quiet spots for meditation, and scenic walking paths. Participants experimented with 360-degree techniques to create a balanced viewing experience that captures movement without overwhelming the viewer. They also considered how elements like natural sounds, lighting, and framing could enhance the calming atmosphere.
In the afternoon, everyone returned to the training venue for a feedback and analysis session, where participants reviewed their footage and reflected on how each scene conveyed wellness and encouraged positive habits. They discussed challenges like capturing smooth motion in active settings and maintaining audio clarity, which is essential for creating an immersive wellness experience. This feedback helped refine their approach, giving them insight into how 360-degree video can be used effectively in wellness education.
The day concluded with an editing workshop on creating immersive wellness experiences. Instructors introduced techniques like gentle camera movements, layered ambient sounds, and soft transitions that help create a sense of peace and focus. Participants also explored adding voiceovers or guided prompts to simulate wellness activities, such as breathing exercises or mindful reflections, allowing students to engage with wellness content in a virtual setting.
Day 8 underscored the versatility of 360-degree video in education, showing how it can create immersive experiences that encourage both mental and physical well-being. Participants left inspired to bring these wellness elements into the classroom, helping students connect with health-focused content on a personal level. Tomorrow, they’ll capture the urban environment, exploring how cityscapes and public spaces contribute to Athens’ unique identity. Stay tuned as we approach the final days of this transformative training journey!
