Day 1: Getting Started with Digital Education of the Future

Updated: Dec 10, 2024

The first day of our Digital Education of the Future training course kicked off with a focus on establishing a strong foundation for creating interactive lessons using 360° visualizations and 3D models. Held in Romania under the Erasmus+ framework, this 10-day training program brings together educators eager to explore new ways of engaging learners through innovative digital tools.

Morning Session: Introduction to Spatial Visualizations

The day began with a warm welcome from the hosting organization, ECO EUROSIM MANAGEMENT S.R.L. Participants introduced themselves, sharing their experiences in education and their aspirations for the course. This set the stage for building a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

The first session was dedicated to understanding spatial visualizations. Trainers provided a detailed overview of the key concepts, focusing on:

  • 360° Photos and Videos: Their application in educational settings and how they enhance learner engagement.

  • 3D Models: The basics of creating and integrating them into lessons to make abstract concepts tangible.

Through a series of examples, educators were inspired to think about how these tools could be used in their own classrooms, sparking lively discussions and brainstorming.

Afternoon Session: Hands-On Practice

After lunch, participants dove into hands-on activities, where theory turned into practice. Using simple tools and resources, they explored how to capture 360° images and create basic 3D models. Guided by experts, they learned:

  • How to structure visual content to align with learning objectives.

  • Techniques for integrating interactive elements, such as annotations and quizzes, into these formats.

The session emphasized practical skills, ensuring that participants could start experimenting with spatial visualization technologies on their own.

Evening Reflection: Setting Goals

The day concluded with a reflective session, where participants shared their takeaways and set personal goals for the training. Common themes included enhancing engagement in digital lessons, making learning more interactive, and overcoming the challenges of integrating new technologies into traditional curricula.

A Promising Start

Day 1 was all about laying the groundwork for a transformative learning journey. By the end of the day, participants had not only gained valuable insights into spatial visualizations but also built connections with like-minded educators. This solid start set the tone for an enriching week ahead.

Stay tuned for updates on Day 2, where the focus shifts to advanced techniques in 3D modeling and lesson planning!
