Day 3: Crafting Lessons with 360° Media and 3D Models

Updated: Dec 10, 2024

On Day 3 of the Digital Education of the Future training, participants reached a pivotal moment—integrating the tools and techniques they’d learned into full-fledged interactive lessons. The focus was on combining 360° media and 3D models into cohesive educational content that could captivate and engage learners.

Morning Session: Planning Interactive Lessons

The morning kicked off with a session on lesson design. Trainers emphasized the importance of aligning digital tools with learning objectives to create meaningful and effective content. Key topics included:

  • Structuring Lessons: Organizing content to flow naturally, from introduction to interactive elements.

  • Defining Learning Goals: Using 360° media and 3D models to reinforce key takeaways.

  • Engaging Learners: Strategies for maintaining attention and encouraging active participation.

Participants worked in small groups to brainstorm lesson ideas tailored to their subjects. This collaborative approach led to a variety of creative concepts, from virtual history tours to immersive science experiments.

Afternoon Session: Bringing Ideas to Life

With plans in hand, the afternoon was dedicated to hands-on development. Participants started building their lessons by combining:

  • 360° Photos and Videos: Embedding them into virtual tours or simulations.

  • Interactive 3D Models: Incorporating annotations, multimedia, and hotspots for deeper exploration.

  • Quizzes and Activities: Adding interactive assessments to test learners’ understanding.

Trainers provided guidance and one-on-one support as participants navigated technical challenges. By the end of the session, many had completed the first drafts of their lessons, showcasing impressive creativity and practical application.

Evening Reflection: Sharing and Feedback

The day wrapped up with a sharing session, where participants presented their lesson drafts to the group. Feedback was constructive and collaborative, with trainers and peers offering suggestions for refinement. The session highlighted the diverse ways 360° and 3D tools could be applied across different educational contexts.

Progress in Action

Day 3 marked a turning point in the training as participants transitioned from learning tools to creating tangible resources. It was rewarding to see ideas take shape and the confidence in the room grow. The excitement for what’s ahead is undeniable as participants continue refining their lessons and preparing for even more advanced activities.

Next up: Day 4 – Advanced Techniques and Troubleshooting for 360° and 3D Integration. Stay tuned!
