Training in Vienna | Day 6: Crafting Educational Experiences – Designing Interactive 3D Learning Content

Updated: Oct 31, 2024

On Day 6 of our photogrammetry training in Vienna, participants took their skills to the next level by planning and creating educational content using their 3D models. This pivotal day was dedicated to transforming static models into fully developed learning experiences, bringing practical applications to the forefront and aligning digital tools with teaching objectives.

The morning session opened with Educational Content Planning, where participants learned how to outline effective learning materials using their 3D creations. This involved defining clear learning objectives, identifying the target audience, and aligning the digital content with specific educational outcomes. By breaking down these steps, participants were able to envision how their models could serve as immersive, interactive teaching tools across subjects like history, science, and geography.

The following workshop on Developing Lesson Scenarios and Structures introduced techniques for combining 3D models with virtual tours and interactive elements to create engaging educational experiences. Participants worked on building scenarios and structuring lessons that integrated 3D visualizations with quizzes, infographics, and 360-degree panoramas. These interactive elements transform passive content into active learning, allowing students to explore and engage with the material in new ways.

In the afternoon, participants applied what they learned in a Hands-On Content Creation Workshop. Here, they built lesson plans incorporating 3D models and interactive features, focusing on user experience and accessibility. Under the guidance of instructors, each participant developed a prototype for an educational module, experimenting with different layouts, navigation flows, and engagement techniques to make their content intuitive and impactful.

The day concluded with a Review and Feedback Session, where participants presented their lesson plans and received valuable feedback from peers and mentors. This collaborative environment allowed them to refine their ideas, ensuring that each project met both educational and technical standards.

Day 6 was a powerful reminder of the role that innovative digital tools can play in education, empowering educators to create content that captivates and inspires. With a solid foundation in both photogrammetry and lesson design, participants are now well-prepared to finalize their projects and bring transformative learning experiences to life. Stay tuned for more updates as our journey continues towards redefining digital education!
